Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus’ agent has claimed that the Brazilian likes where Arsenal seem to be heading under Mikel Arteta.
Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus has recently been linked with a summer move to Arsenal and his agent has further fueled the rumours by claiming that the forward likes the Gunners’ project. The north London club have improved by leaps and bounds this season under Mikel Arteta after finishing eighth in the Premier League last season.
Arsenal are currently the favourites to finish fourth in the league table and secure Champions League football for next season. And for Arteta’s project to keep growing, a place in Europe’s premier club competitions is of utmost importance, as it will allow them to sign their top targets.
Jesus is one such player who would be an improvement on the current striking options that Arsenal have in Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette. The Gunners’ duo have their contracts expiring this summer and they will be free to join any other club on a Bosman move.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having already left the club this winter, signing a number nine is a top priority. The 25-year-old Manchester City forward is reportedly on top of their wishlist and his agent’s comments will please Arsenal fans.

Jesus’ agent also revealed that they have held discussions with Arsenal and the player likes the project. There have been reports claiming the forward is open to the idea of joining the north London club this summer. But the flip side is that the Gunners will have to beat six more clubs to sign the Brazilian.
“We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing,” Jesus’ agent told Fabrizio Romano. “There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on the final games with Man City, we’ll see.”
Jesus has failed to carve a place for himself in Pep Guardiola’s plans since joining the Premier League champions in 2017. Sergio Aguero’s departure, too, didn’t improve the 25-year-old’s situation at the club and with the impending arrival of Erling Haaland, he is set to fall down the pecking order.
With just a year remaining on Jesus’ contract after the ongoing season, Manchester City are also reportedly ready to cash in on him rather than risk losing him for free next year. Reports claim Manchester City have slapped a €50 million price tag on the forward. Whether Arsenal are willing to shell out that amount remains to be seen.
