Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly set to go head to head in the race to sign 15-year-old Palmeiras whizkid Endrick.
According to Sky Sports, Palmeiras are bracing themselves for raids from almost every top club across Europe for Endrick. The 15-year-old wunderkind has emerged as one of the most promising young players in Brazil, thus becoming a sought-after prospect in the transfer market.
Premier League giants Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are among some of the clubs interested in securing the services of Endrick. The young striker from Brasilia currently plies his trade with the Palmeiras Under-20 side. He has already made a solid impression in the youth competitions, prompting top scouts across Europe to keep a close eye on the youngster.
Endrick most recently made a statement at the Copinha, which is considered as one of the best Under-20 tournaments in world football. The 15-year-old attacker was named the most valuable player in the competition while he also scored the goal of the tournament.
Quite unsurprisingly, the Palmeiras starlet is now being linked with a move to England, with Chelsea, for one, keeping a close eye on his development. The reigning European champions have enjoyed a lot of success in nurturing young players in recent years, with Thomas Tuchel being particularly fond of giving them the opportunity to perform at the highest level.
A centre-forward by trade, Endrick may have a lot of scope at Chelsea in the long run, given the club’s struggles in finding a reliable goalscorer in recent years. They notably brought in Romelu Lukaku last summer, but the Belgian has been already linked with a shock exit at the end of the season.
The same applies to Manchester United, who have not quite enjoyed the success they were hoping for. It has led to speculation over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. And with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly keen on signing the Portuguese international, the Red Devils could set their sights on a few younger options like Endrick.
Another potential destination for the Brazilian is Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has proven himself in the past with his ability to nurture young talents. Perhaps more importantly, the Reds do not have a star player in the number nine position and are bracing themselves for the departure of Divock Origi. It could pave the way for the youngster to become a potential asset for the club.
At the age of just 15, however, Endrick has a long way to go before he can be considered for first-team action. He is not even eligible to sign a professional contract, which means the Premier League giants may have to wait for some time before making an official bid for the 15-year-old Brazilian whizkid.
