Juventus are reportedly prepared to rival Chelsea and Real Madrid in the pursuit of AS Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to Defensa Central, Juventus are keeping a close watch on the progress of Aurelien Tchouameni. The AS Monaco midfielder is currently one of the hottest prospects available in the French market, thus putting multiple clubs on red alert, as he looks to take the next step in his career.
Chelsea and Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in the services of Tchouameni. But it appears they are set to face stiff competition from Juventus in pursuit of the AS Monaco starlet, who is regarded as the future of the French midfield.
Formerly of the Bordeaux academy, Tchouameni made his Ligue 1 breakthrough last season, featuring in 36 matches for a Monaco side that finished third in the league table. The youngster has indeed enjoyed a swift rise to prominence under the leadership of Niko Kovac, whose direct, aggressive style of play has added a new dimension to his game.
A central midfielder by trade, Tchouameni is essentially a number eight. He can carry the ball across in midfield while also operating as a key hub in the second line of press, often hurrying the opposition press.
Such quality has put Juventus on red alert, as the Bianconeri look to make a January swoop to replace Weston McKennie. The young American has been linked with an immediate exit, with Aston Villa, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur interested in his services.
Juventus, though, are set to face stiff competition from Chelsea, who have already identified the Frenchman as an ideal competitor for Mateo Kovacic next season. The youngster might also turn out to be an ideal long-term option for the club, especially with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante nearing the final phase of their respective careers.
As for Real Madrid, their pursuit of Tchouameni remains intact. But Los Blancos are in a difficult state at the moment, as they are focusing on the prospect of signing Kylian Mbappe while Erling Haaland is another option for the club.
As such, Real Madrid might have to offload a few of the star players before they can afford the €50 million price tag for Tchouameni in the summer. Eden Hazard, for one, has recently been linked with a shock return to Chelsea, so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga takes shape in the coming months, as the three European giants battle it out for the 21-year-old midfielder.
