Real Madrid are reportedly considering a potential swoop of 21-year-old Brazilian attacker, with Florentino Perez personally taking charge of a move.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Antony is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a move in a future transfer window. The 21-year-old Ajax attacker is being viewed as a potential long-term solution in attack for the Merengues.
Antony has made swift progress in his career since joining Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020. Over a year and a half since arriving in Amsterdam, the Brazilian prospect has gone a long way in filling the void of Hakim Ziyech, having amassed a tally of 11 goals and 12 assists in 50 appearances for the Dutch giants.
The 21-year-old is still continuing to add facets to his game, but his performances in the last 18 months of so seem to have already gone a long way in attracting some of the biggest clubs in Europe to his talent. And the latest club to have shown an interest in prising Antony away from Ajax are Real Madrid.
Los Blancos appear to be eager to facilitate a smooth transition to the next generation of footballers – an outlook that has seen them bolster just about every position with prodigious talents in the last few years. In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde will succeed the current veteran stalwarts.
As far as the attacking unit is concerned, Erling Haaland is reportedly Real Madrid’s priority to be Karim Benzema’s successor. The wide attacking positions have already been bolstered in recent years in the form of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes. However, both Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale are on the wrong side of 30 and will need to start getting phased out in a few years.
With that in mind, Real Madrid are keen on signing a potential long-term solution out wide, which has seen them getting linked with Giovanni Reyna, Rayan Cherki and Fabio Carvalho, with Antony now emerging as a viable target for the Spanish giants.
