Manchester United are reportedly in pole position to sign Jude Bellingham, who is also a target for Chelsea and Manchester City.
According to an exclusive report by The Sun, Manchester United are the front-runners in pursuit of Jude Bellingham. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is also the subject of interest from Chelsea and Manchester City, while Liverpool have also been heavily linked with him.
Jude Bellingham first burst onto the limelight when he broke into the first-team setup at boyhood club Birmingham City aged just 16. A breakthrough campaign in 2019/20 earned him interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe before Borussia Dortmund ended up swooping him away last summer.
To date, the 18-year-old has made 54 appearances for Dortmund, already becoming a key figure for the Bundesliga giants while also making grade in the English national side. His continued progress at Dortmund has kept prospective suitors alert to his upward trajectory, with Bellingham currently on the radars of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Manchester United were the most heavily linked suitors of Bellingham last year before he chose to join Borussia Dortmund. And as it turns out, the interest in him has not really waned, which makes sense, seeing as Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford is extremely uncertain.
Most recently, Mino Raiola has made a hint over his desire to return to Juventus, although reports have claimed that he could well sign a contract extension with the Red Devils soon, Chelsea, on the other hand, might be in need of a long-term successor for N’Golo Kante, whose injury woes have been piling up as well, hence making Bellingham a viable target.
As for Manchester City, with Fernandinho reaching the end of the line at the Etihad and Bernardo Silva being heavily linked with a potential exit, it is clear that a midfield reinforcement could soon be sought. However, it appears as if Manchester United hold an advantage over Chelsea and City in the race to sign Bellingham.
The report claims that Manchester United have left a lasting impression on Bellingham and his family after rolling down the red carpet for him in their bid to sign him last year. So, if and when Bellingham does end up leaving Dortmund, it will not be surprising to see him join Manchester United ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City, or even Liverpool for that matter.
