Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all reportedly interested in Dejan Kulusevski, but Juventus have no intentions of selling the 21-year-old forward.
According to a report from Italian publication Tutto Juve, Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Juventus and Sweden attacker Dejan Kulusevski.
The 21-year-old Kulusevski came through the ranks at Swedish outfit IF Bromma before making the switch to Serie A side Atalanta at a very young age. Having graduated to senior football with La Dea, the winger signed for Parma in 2019, soon after which he was snapped up by Juventus, who loaned him back to the Crociati for the second half of the 2019/20 season.
Having arrived at Juventus last summer, Kulusevski showed signs of promise in his debut campaign but failed to deliver at the level that was expected as he finished the campaign with a tally of seven goals and seven assists apiece in 47 games. While not the worst numbers, the 21-year-old is capable of better and was perhaps stifled by a lack of proper role in Andrea Pirlo’s system.
Nonetheless, Kulusevski’s stock remains high as ever in Europe, with as many as three Premier League clubs interested in signing the Swedish international. Indeed, as per the report, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all set their sights on the former Parma starlet.
For Arsenal, there is no real urgent need for a new wide forward considering that they already have the likes of Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson, Willian while captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe can also play out wide. However, amid speculations that the Gunners could be ready to cut ties with Willian, space could open up for someone like Kulusevski within the ranks.
As for Liverpool, the Reds have a much bigger necessity of a winger than Arsenal at the moment. Last season was Jurgen Klopp’s men being overly reliant on Mohamed Salah, as Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino underwhelmed. While Diogo Jota did impress, the uncertain futures of Takumi Minamino, Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi warrant the addition of more depth in attack this summer.
A move for Adama Traore, thus, is believed to be in the works. But, it seems like Liverpool are keeping their options open with Kulusevski also a target after they had a bid for another Juventus winger, Federico Chiesa, turned down.
Tottenham’s interest in the 21-year-old also seems pretty straightforward as they look to replace Gareth Bale after his loan spell came to an end. Bryan Gil has arrived from Sevilla, but that deal also saw Spurs lose Erik Lamela the other way. And despite Lucas Moura impressing in pre-season, speculations surrounding his future refuse to go away, much like that Steven Bergwijn, after the pair had a difficult 2020/21 season.
Kulusevski, to that end, can be a worthy candidate for Spurs, and one that their new sporting director Fabio Paratici will be well aware of, having brought him to Juventus last year. However, the Bianconeri, as per the report, will not entertain any offers for the Swede this summer. It remains to be seen if any of the three aforementioned clubs launch an offer that could change that stance.
