Chelsea are reportedly interested in a move for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who could be sold by Juventus in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Tutto Mercato Web, Premier League giants Chelsea are keen on making a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who could be made available for a transfer this summer.
The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and established himself as a regular for club and country before leaving the French champions in acrimonious circumstances in 2019 after he refused to sign a new contract with the club.
Rabiot signed for Juventus on a free transfer but the Frenchman has struggled to hit the heights of his PSG days in Turin. He had been in and out of the lineup last season under Maurizio Sarri and even though he has featured more regularly this time out under Andrea Pirlo, he has not been able to hit the expected heights.

With the Bianconeri going through financial difficulties, the club will need to offload some players in the summer transfer window as they look to rebuild the squad freshly ahead of the next season. Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is one player who will be allowed to leave, amid interest from Liverpool.
Now, it is being claimed that Rabiot could also be shown the exit doors in the upcoming transfer window, which has piqued the interest of Premier League giants Chelsea. As things stand, the Blues have a number of options in the middle of the park in N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Billy Gilmour.
However, Jorginho continues to flirt with the idea of a potential return to Italy. That coupled with Kante’s recent injury history could warrant the addition of another central midfielder in the ranks at Stamford Bridge, making Rabiot a viable transfer target.
Chelsea’s new manager Thomas Tuchel is someone that knows Rabiot well, having worked with the Frenchman at PSG. It was during the German’s tenure in France that the midfielder was frozen out of the first-team picture before being allowed to leave the club.
Nevertheless, it seems like a reunion could be on the cards if Chelsea have their way. However, they will face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Everton, where another former PSG manager in Carlo Ancelotti is pushing for his signing.
Chelsea have recently been linked with a move for French wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga as well, hinting that a central midfielder could come through the doors at Stamford Bridge before next season. Whether that is Rabiot or Camavinga or someone else altogether remains to be seen.
