Chelsea are reportedly viewing Kingsley Coman, also a target for rivals Manchester United, as a possible replacement for Christian Pulisic.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Chelsea are the latest club to have emerged in pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, who is being considered as a possible replacement for Christian Pulisic. The French international is also a target for Manchester United.
Coman is one of the most decorated players currently plying their trade in Europe, winning 23 trophies till date despite still only being 24 years old. The Frenchman, in fact, has won league titles with PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich, enjoying immense success with the German powerhouses, in particular.
Till date, the 24-year-old has turned out 188 times for Bayern, with a decent record of 39 goals and 48 assists to show for his efforts. His talent and potential have constantly kept Coman on the radars of some of the biggest clubs in the world. And ahead of this summer’s transfer window, the French winger is being tailed by Manchester United and Chelsea.
Manchester United have long been in search of a viable solution to their right wing woes, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielding several players on the flank to see little to moderate success. Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri could be long-term options for the position, but the Red Devils need an instant solution as well, which brings Coman into the picture.
Manchester United, though, now face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are the latest club to show serious interest in Coman. In fact, the report suggests that the Blues had also been eyeing a move for the player back when Bayern Munich were in pursuit of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Ahead of this summer, though, Chelsea are considering Coman as a replacement for Christian Pulisic, who has coincidentally been linked with Manchester United and Bayern Munich apart from Liverpool as well. If Pulisic does end up leaving, the west Londoners will need a like-for-like replacement, making Coman a viable target.

Pulisic’s possible departure is not the only attacking change Chelsea could see at Stamford Bridge, with Timo Werner also linked with a possible summer exit. As a result, the Blues would need to scour the market for a replacement for the German striker as well. As far as the Pulisic situation is concerned, Coman is surely an option worth considering, with his peak years well ahead of him.
However, Chelsea will need to stave off competition from Manchester United and possibly even Manchester City, which sets up an exciting transfer battle for the summer. What does appear to be certain is the fact that his signing could be achievable, with his current deal with Bayern Munich running out in a little over two years.
