Chelsea are reportedly confident in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to a recent report by Eurosport, English giants Chelsea are positive about landing Borrusia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland at Stamford Bridge in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Over the past couple of years, Haaland has established himself as one of the most consistent and prolific goalscorers in Europe. His performances for Borrusia Dortmund since he joined them in January last year, have been a treat to behold.
The Norwegian international’s agility, pace and killer instinct in front of goal would provide a different dimension to any side. The 20-year-old attacker has been a hot topic of speculation of late, as his exploits have put him on the radars of a host of clubs in Europe with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United keeping tabs on him.

And, Chelsea, too, have entered the fray to sign him as new boss Thomas Tuchel has made bolstering his attacking unit the top priority ahead of the summer window. Olivier Giroud is on the wrong side of 30, and summer signing Timo Werner has still not been able to find his rhythm, which is why their venture for another attacking option makes sense.
Haaland has a release clause worth €75 million which would only come into play in the summer of 2022. But, Chelsea are raring to sign him up in the next transfer window itself as the Norwegian could be an ideal long-term option for the number nine position and with him upfront, the Blues would become a force to reckon with again.
And in their bid to land Haaland, Chelsea believe that they have been making progress through intermediaries and agent Mino Raiola as they push to convince the Norwegian to move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Manchester City’s intervention in this saga has made matters interesting. The Cityzens manager Pep Guardiola seems desperate to bring a formidable figure in his attacking region, as Gabriel Jesus has not been consistent enough in his stint while Sergio Aguero’s contract runs out at the end of the season.
Apart from Haaland, Chelsea are also looking at another Borussia Dortmund star in Jadon Sancho. As for the BVB No.9, it will be interesting to see if he remains in Germany or whether a fresh chapter awaits for the Norwegian international at Stamford Bridge or somewhere else come summer.
