Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain, who was on loan at AC Milan, is officially a Chelsea player, the Premier League giants have announced on their website.
Gonzalo Higuain is officially a Chelsea player, at least for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign, the club’s official website has confirmed. The Juventus striker was on loan at AC Milan for the season. But, the temporary deal was cut short, with the Argentine set to spend the rest of his AC Milan loan duration in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
While there is no confirmation from Chelsea as to the presence of a fee clause which enables the club to make the transfer permanent, the reports state there is one present, with Juventus and Chelsea agreeing that the Blues will have to pay the same amount AC Milan had to as part of their loan deal, which is reported to be €35 million.

Chelsea have been in dire need of a natural goalscorer, which everyone thought was Alvaro Morata when he was brought in from Real Madrid. The Spanish international has struggled under Maurizio Sarri, with Olivier Giroud not offering much better either.
Gonzalo Higuain is not unknown to the ways of Sarri. The two had a successful relationship at Napoli, with Higuain even netting 36 goals in a single Serie A campaign in his last season at the club in 2014-15. The striker did earn his reputation as a fearsome striker under Sarri, who will be hoping the same is the case at Chelsea.
The Argentine has been given the Number 9 jersey and hoped to repay the faith shown in him by the club and the manager while talking for the first time as a Chelsea player.
“When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it. It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in. I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.”

Higuain’s arrival is likely to see Morata leave, with Atletico Madrid tipped to be closing in on a deal to sign the former Real Madrid man.
It will be interesting to see whether Gonzalo Higuain can improve Chelsea’s attacking quality and efficiency.
