Alex Mighten and Matt Bondswell – both 16 years of age – are regarded as two of the brightest talents within the Nottingham Forest academy setup. The duo have already been a part of the England under-16 side and have been a regular fixture in the club’s under-18 team.
Bondswell is a left-back while Mighten is a winger, but both are being touted as big names for the future.
Nottingham Forest are an iconic English club – a club that was regarded as the best club in England during the 1970s. But, after a damp interval, the club are again in high spirits and are pushing for a promotion to the Premier League again.

Forest have become somewhat famed for their penchant to produce players for the first-team recently, with the likes of Joe Worrall and Matty Cash emerging from the academy before becoming regulars for the first-team. The brightest name to pop up has been Ben Brereton, a striker tipped to have a big future ahead of him, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Southampton and Manchester United taking a keen interest in the forward.
Manchester United have undertaken a rigorous youth recruitment policy over the last 18 months or so and the same is starting to pay dividends. The Under-18s secured the league title and comprise of players that look like future superstars.
While United have been yet unsuccessful in their pursuit of Ben Brereton, they are looking to start early in case of Alex Mighten and Matt Bondswell. Nottingham Forest are reportedly desperate to hold on to the talented duo but are aware that the interest from Manchester United might prove too much.
With Southampton also interested in the duo, the Championship outfit’s probability of retaining the youngsters have taken a body blow. Manchester United remain in the lead and chances are, the Red Devils could add the two stars before the start of the new season.
