Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez reportedly prefers a move to league rivals Manchester City over Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Arsenal are set to lose some of their mega stars after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. And one of them may end up moving to one of their rivals as The Sun are reporting that Alexis Sanchez prefers a move to Manchester City over Bayern Munich.
Alexis Sanchez has been one of the major positives of a somewhat disappointing season for Arsenal. The Chilean has forged into one of the best wide-forwards and the attacker has done well both out wide and upfront for the Gunners.
The numbers do justice to the Chilean as well, with the player becoming only the 9th player in the Premier League era to record 20+ goals and 10+ assists in a single season – only 10 instances of such a feat. In fact, his overall record of 29 goals and 19 assists this season is absolutely amazing, considering he did play wide for a chunk of the season.

However, even after a win over Everton on the final day, the Gunners are now condemned to play Europa League football next campaign – a level Alexis Sanchez would not want to play at, considering the level of interest his talent has gathered.
The Chilean is linked with almost every Arsenal rival while their commonest Champions League adversary of recent times, Bayern Munich are also eyeing a move for the player. And, the Bavarians are set to attempt to prise the player away from Arsenal in the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti needs reinforcements in the wide-forward areas, with Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben both on the wrong side – in terms of age. And at the present moment, Alexis Sanchez has better form and in overall sense, has reached a better level than the aforementioned duo.

Even though Bayern did defend their Bundesliga title, their failure in the UEFA Champions League will rankle Ancelotti, who will look to bring reinforcements in to ensure they improve their performance in the Elite European competition.
However, Alexis Sanchez has taken to Premier League football with aplomb and could be looking to stay in the Premier League. Manchester City are interested in the player, with Guardiola looking to reunite with the Chilean.
The attacker has a taste of Pep Guardiola’s footballing philosophy from their times together at Barcelona and the manager is said to hold Sanchez in high regard. The player’s dominance in the Premier League has convinced Guardiola that the player is the apt target to elevate his squad from a top-four club to title challengers next season.
As per the report, Sanchez prefers Manchester City while his agent is trying to persuade him to opt for Bayern Munich, with both the sides equally invested in the pursuit of the player. Bayern will also be the preferred option for Arsenal as well, as a move to Manchester City would end up strengthening their rivals for next campaign.
It would be interesting to see how the story develops. But, for now, Sanchez seems to prefer Manchester City and if his agent is unable to persuade him to go for Bayern, we may be set to see another Arsenal player joining a rival English club.
