Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer Karim Benzema in a deal to sign Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez in the summer, who is also a target for Chelsea
Spanish publication Don Balon have reported that Real Madrid are the latest club to be interested in Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez. Los Blancos are reportedly prepared to offer Karim Benzema in return to land the Chilean, who is also a summer target for Chelsea.
Sanchez has been an integral part of the Arsenal setup since arriving from Barcelona in July 2014. This season, though, the Chilean has stepped up to the task in an entirely different role of the lone forward, with a return of 17 goals and 10 assists in 26 Premier League appearances.
Of late though, Alexis Sanchez looks like an embattled figure at Arsenal. The Chilean is in the midst of a contract standoff with the club and was recently involved in a training bust-up with Arsene Wenger and the staff, all pointing towards an inevitable exit.
There is no dearth of suitors for his services. Alexis has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City in the Premier League, and with Atletico Madrid in La Liga. And Real Madrid have also entered the race as well.
Chelsea have been looking to add to the attacking ranks. Diego Costa’s future is uncertain and Eden Hazard too has been linked with Real Madrid. In the midst of all this, Alexis Sanchez, who can play both in wide areas and centrally, as he has proven this season, could be the perfect summer transfer target for the Blues.
Real Madrid, though, are plotting a move to trump their local rivals Atletico Madrid among others in the pursuit of Alexis Sanchez. Don Balon report that Los Blancos are preparing to offer Karim Benzema in return to land the Chilean.
Benzema has been booed often by Real Madrid fans this season and despite Zinedine Zidane battling to keep his compatriot at Santiago Bernabeu, various reports state that the boss is fighting a losing battle, with Florentino Perez also in favour of selling the French striker.
If Real Madrid are able to land Alexis Sanchez, not only will it go on to further strengthen their attacking core but also result in a spite to Barcelona, with the Chilean being a former Blaugrana.
Arsenal, too, have been quite fond of Karim Benzema for a long time now and if Arsene Wenger does end up staying, the deal could have exponentially more chances of it happening, with the Frenchman a huge admirer of his compatriot’s talents.
However, Real Madrid face multiple competitors in the pursuit of Alexis. But, given the club’s illustrious transfer history, Los Blancos could just land the player, if they really want to.
