Aston Villa have confirmed the purchase of Bury FC teenager Jacob Bedeau despite interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Aston Villa have confirmed the arrival of Bury FC defender Jacob Bedeau on their official website. The player was linked with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City. But, it is the Villans who have secured the wonderkid’s future for the next few years, at the very least.
The club has confirmed that the player has signed a two-and-a-half year deal, arriving from Bury FC for an undisclosed fee. The player would be hoping to impress with his performances at Villa Park, similar, if not better, than his outings at Gigg Lane.
Bedeau was delighted with the deal and did not hide his excitement as he spoke to the official website of Aston Villa.
Bedeau said,“ This is such a massive opportunity for me at such a young age. I’m looking forward to taking that opportunity and developing even more at such a big club. I can’t wait to get started at Aston Villa.”

The 17-year-old, though, reserved some words of appreciation directed towards his former club Bury, the club where he went through his early footballing paces as well. He said,“ I’ll always be grateful to Bury for giving me a chance so I would like to say thank you to them and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.”
The player made 7 League One appearances for Bury this season so far and will now be hoping to adjust well and fast to the rigours of what is one step up from the league he was in for the first-half of the campaign.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United were all linked with the player, with Liverpool especially credited with interest, after the Reds recently signed another prodigious central defender from Bury FC in Emeka Obi.
But, Steve Bruce’s side had reportedly moved into pole position to land Bedeau, which they have successfully achieved now. While Bedeau will not slot in straight at the back, the player is likely to be in and around the first-team setup at Villa Park.
