Arsenal managed to salvage a draw against PSG through a late goal by Alexis Sanchez.
Edinson Cavani’s goal after 44 seconds looked to be enough for PSG to get the job done, but Alexis Sanchez’s late goal meant Arsenal could come away with a point from the game.
Despite his goal, Cavani missed a number of chances and was heavily criticised. Arsene Wenger too was subject to heavy discussion on Twitter for his team selection.
Here’s how the game played out on Twitter:
Rested players against S’ton on Saturday & we’re resting them again today.
What exactly are we resting them for?

#Arsenal poor so far, #PSG more aggressive and dynamic. Main difference though is one team has a centre forward on the pitch #PSGvAFC

Wenger won’t ever win the champions league and I don’t think he will win another premiership title. #PSGvAFC

Shocking 1st half. Outplayed all over the pitch. #PSGvAFC

We have no options in front of the ball, yet we are reluctant to shoot from outside the box.
Set pieces are our best chance.#PSGvAFC— Moh Haider (@ArsenalMoh8) September 13, 2016
Edinson Cavani was given some slack for a dismal performance:
@ChampionsLeague Poor #Arsenal play has just turned #cavani & #DiMaria into ⚽️superstars again! #PSGvAFC #bbcfootball #PSGARS

Looks like #Giroud is coming on to make #Cavani look clinical. #PSGvAFC #UCL.

#Cavani scores one and made sure that the game is on after HT by missing two easy sitters. What a lad. #PSGvAFC

#Cavani reminds me of Andy Cole: needs 5 good chances to score 1 great goal. #PSGARS

Granit Xhaka’s exclusion was not met with positivity by the fans.
These are the nights Xhaka probably signed for, instead he has to sit there and watch a brainless binman charge around midfield like a moron

Smart move from Wenger to rest Xhaka for the North London derby in November.

Xhaka rift with Wenger. Wenger wasn’t happy he ate Mars bar after training. Teaching him a lesson.

When I’m told Coquelin starts over Xhaka twice in 3 days pic.twitter.com/7iopYQ0na1

I thought Coquelin started vs Southampton to rest Xhaka. But seeing Xhaka on the bench again questions what’s going through Arsene’s head
