Manchester United reject Radamel Falcao has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.
Radamel Falcao is keen on joining Chelsea after a failed season-long loan spell at Manchester United. According to reports, the Colombian is keen to see the move through before starting the Copa America campaign on 14th June.
As reported earlier, Chelsea are in talks with Monaco . to sign the striker and it is believed that the French club want a A?5 million loan fee for the former Atletico star. The loan will last an entire season and if Chelsea want to sign Falcao permanently they will have to cough up A?35 million at the end of the season.
Falcao spent a season on loan at Manchester United and miserably failed to make an impact. The forward managed to net a meagre four goals for the Old Trafford club. However, the Monaco player feels that he is capable of turning his form around and wants to prove his mettle in the Premier League.
THT Verdict: Unlikely
Chelsea already have a great striker in Diego Costa who is capable of converting the chances provided by Hazard and Fabragas. Costa had to face several injuries in his first season at the club but still managed to net 20 goals in his debut campaign. Along with Costa, Chelsea also have the services of Loic Remy upfront. But with Drogba leaving the club and both Costa and Remy prone to injuries, Mourinho will be keen on adding a reliable third striker to his roster. However, Falcaoa s poor performances with United can prove to be a hindrance and Mourinho may not be keen on the Colombian. The Portuguese manager has two promising young strikers in the form of Dominic Solanke and Patrick Bamford. Out of the two youngsters, Mourinho can loan one out and use the other one as a back-up for Costa and Remy instead of meeting Falcaoa s high wage demands.
