Sergio Ramos is believed to be unsettled at Real Madrid and Chelsea and Manchester United are gearing up to start a bidding war for the Spaniard.
Real Madrid star . Sergio Ramos is yet to reach an agreement with the club over a new contract. Apparently, the Spain international is demanding higher wages than what Real Madrid are ready to offer. It is believed that the vice-captain is demanding a contract worth A?10m-a-year but the Spanish giants are not ready to pay him that kind of amount.
Being one of the best in the business, Sergio Ramos has attracted interest from the likes of Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United. It is being reported that Sergio Ramosa unhappiness with Real Madrid has caught the eye of former manager Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese is keen on bringing the defender to Chelsea. Another Premier League club that is reportedly interested in the Spaniard is Louis Van Gaala s Manchester United. It is believed that the Dutchman is lining up a bid in the region of A?20 million for the World Cup winner.
Sergio Ramosa agent Rene Ramos had previously hinted that the defender might finish his career at a club other than Real Madrid.
“For now he still has two years of contract,” his agent said. “We await the call of the club but Real Madrid have not called me.
“For now there are no talks. Perhaps it is best if he doesn’t finish his career at Real Madrid but at another club. We never know.
“Football is changing so fast a you must enjoy the moment.”
THT Verdict: Unlikely
Sergio Ramos is an iconic player for Real Madrid and has been at the club since he joined from Sevilla as a teenager. The Spaniard most definitely is faithful to the club and has always been an irreplaceable figure since his arrival. Both the player and the club will want him to continue at Los Blancos as being only 29-years of age, the defender still has a lot to offer for the club. His agenta s comments could be a ploy to force the club into fulfilling Ramosa wage demands and there is no doubt that Real Madrid will willingly negotiate. After helping Real Madrid win the La Decima by scoring a stoppage time equaliser, Ramos has attained legendary status at the club and it is unlikely that Real Madrid will let the defender leave so easily.
