Arsenal FC have reportedly begun talks with Barcelona over the potential transfer of winger Pedro.
The Telegraph have claimed that the Gunners, who have long been linked with the Spain international, have begun talks with Barcelona over a transfer for the player.
The arrival of Luis Suarez meant Pedro went down the pecking order at the Spanish club and his future at the club has been in doubt for a long time, and speculation continues despite him having signed a new contract that expires in 2019 at the start of June.
The new deal apparently has set the player’s release clause at A?110million. But these clauses don’t necessarily mean that an interested party will have to pay such a sum and his services can be acquired for much lesser.
The Spain international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, especially with the Gunners and Liverpool, and it seems he could finally come to England in the summer.
.
He scored 11 goals and grabbed 9 assists for Barcelona last season.
The 27 year-old will be a shrewd investment for Arsene Wenger. The player’s talent is undeniable and it is unfortunate that he is competing with the likes of Neymar and Suarez for a starting spot.
