Sir Alex Ferguson has finally spoken out about David Moyes ill-fated tenure at Manchester United and has revealed that he had nothing to do with his sacking, blaming Moyes for not realising the magnitude of the club.
Many blamed Ferguson for Unitedai??i??s decline, suggesting that he had left an ill-equipped squad at Moyesai??i?? disposal. However Sir Alex Ferguson has denied such suggestions in his updated auto-biography and has revealed that it was Moyesai??i?? inability to adjust to United that caused his downfall.
“He hadn’t realised just how big United is as a club.”

Alex Fergusonai??i??s auto-biography also revealed that his position at Manchester United has become peripheral as he was not included in the decision process to either sack Moyes or appoint Van Gaal. The former manager himself wrote that he found out about the rumours suggesting Moyesai??i?? sacking through the press.

Ferguson spoke about David Moyesai??i?? style at Manchester United and criticized the former manager for not understanding the true nature of the club. He believed that Moyes slowed down Unitedai??i??s play and that hindered the team who were used to playing with pace and intensity.

Talking about the painful season Manchester United endured under Moyes, Ferguson writes that it was particularly difficult to cope with defeats against traditional rivals Liverpool and City.
“It’s hard to watch that kind of outcome when Liverpool are the ones dishing out the pain. It was a rough season for a United fan and it was tough for me because I knew there were plenty of good players in our squad. They weren’t showing their form – and that seemed to place a huge weight on David’s shoulders.”
Ferguson revealed that the writing on the wall was clear for David Moyes as the season progressed. He believes that though the arrival of Mata from Chelsea lifted the spirit in the camp, the walls eventually squeezed in on Moyes.
“As the results deteriorated, each defeat was a hammer blow to him. I could see that in his demeanour. In January we bought Juan Mata and that gave everyone a lift but I could see the walls squeezing in, leaving David with less and less room to breathe. I know that feeling from 1989, when we went through a terrible spell.
“You feel you are being crushed. The results gnawed away at David. Nobody could dispute how disappointing the season was. And it cost a man his job.”
Ferguson also dismissed suggestions that he was interfering with Moyesai??i?? job at United and had an extremely powerful influence in the club despite having retired as the manager.
