Xavi Simons could leave Tottenham for bargain fee if they are relegated

Tottenham attacking sensation Xavi Simons could be available for a bargain fee of just €30 million if they get relegated.

Tottenham have gone from being Champions League finalists in 2019 to relegation candidates in 2026. The North London club have had quite a downfall in recent years. While they did survive the drop last season, things don’t look that promising for them this time around.

If they do end up getting relegated, it could lead to the departure of quite a few of their top players. Xavi Simons could be one of the players, and according to a report from Fichajes, the Dutch international will be available for just €30 million.

After reviving his career at RB Leipzig, Simons made the move to Tottenham last summer in a deal worth around €65 million. The 22-year-old is yet to hit top gear at his new club, as he only has 11 goal contributions in his 40 outings. A lot of it is down to the fact that the club is struggling as a whole.

While Simons is yet to fully express himself as a Spurs player, there is already a lot of talk about his future with Tottenham sitting in the drop zone heading into the final five games of the season. If the North London club go down, the Dutch attacking midfielder could be heading out, and he could be available for less than half of what they had paid to sign him.

Relegation would lead to Simons’ departure

Relegation will have devastating consequences. Apart from the sporting blow, there will be a massive financial hit, and it will force the club to sell important assets. Simons is one of their most valuable players, and the club could be forced to sell him.

€30 million could be a massive bargain fee for someone with his quality. Since he is only 22 and has massive potential, top clubs from across Europe will look to pounce on the opportunity to sign him. Quite a few clubs have already been put on alert, and they are monitoring Simons ahead of a potential transfer.

The former PSG star is unlikely to be willing to continue in the Championship. As a result, a potential transfer will certainly make sense for all parties involved.
