David Moyes’s Everton have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Leeds United attacking target Mohamed Amoura.
Mohamed Amoura’s future has become a massive talking point as two Premier League clubs are willing to battle it out for his signature. With Wolfsburg struggling in the Bundesliga, Leeds United had stepped up their efforts to sign the Algerian international.
However, they are not the only club in the race. According to Sebastien Vidal, Everton are also stepping up their efforts as they look to beat the Yorkshire-based club to Amoura’s signature. David Moyes is very keen on bolstering his attack this summer, and the Algerian striker is quite high on their wishlist.
Mohamed Amoura could leave Wolfsburg
On the back of an impressive season with Union Saint-Gilloise, Wolfsburg acquired the services of the 25-year-old in the summer of 2024 on a season-long loan deal. He had an exceptional debut campaign, as he bagged 10 goals and 12 assists in his 31 Bundesliga outings.
While Wolfsburg are struggling, Amoura has still managed to rack up decent numbers this season as well. He has eight goals and four assists in his 27 league games. He prefers playing up top, but the Algerian has featured across the frontline this term, showcasing his versatility.
The player’s performances have attracted a significant amount of interest from the Premier League. Leeds United and Everton are both keen on signing him, with the 25-year-old likely to be available for a cut-price fee. If Wolfsburg fail to avoid relegation, not only will his departure become inevitable, but he could also be signed for below his market value.
Everton are looking to win the race for Amoura
Daniel Farke is looking for an option to significantly bolster his attack, and he considers Amoura an interesting option for his team. But he is set to face stiff competition from Moyes’s team, as they have also intensified their efforts to sign the 25-year-old.
The Toffees lack depth in the final third. Thierno Barry and Beto are the only two striker options in his ranks. The Everton manager is keen on having more quality, and Amoura could prove to be a very valuable signing for them. They have already stepped on the accelerator, and it will be interesting to see if there is any concrete development in the coming weeks.
