Real Madrid and PSG want to sign Pape Matar Sarr

European giants Real Madrid and PSG are looking to knock on Tottenham’s door for the services of Pape Matar Sarr.

Tottenham find themselves in deep waters in the Premier League, as they are fighting for survival. They are currently 18th on the table and are two points off safety. With just six games to go, the threat of relegation is real. It has resulted in a lot of talk about their star players, who could end up leaving the club this summer.

While the majority of their squad has underperformed, some young stars have put in impressive performances, and other top clubs are ready to lure them away. Pape Matar Sarr is one of the players who is attracting a lot of interest from across Europe. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Real Madrid and PSG are both keen on signing the 23-year-old.

Sarr has been a part of their setup since the summer of 2021, and he has only gone from strength to strength since. The Senegalese international has established himself as a key figure in the team. He has been involved in 34 games this term and has contributed towards five goals.

While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, his great defensive abilities make him an equally effective option in the holding role. Despite being just 23, he already has a lot of experience at the club and the international level.

PSG and Real Madrid want Tottenham star midfielder

Given the kind of composure he has shown in pressure situations, clubs like PSG and Real Madrid want to lure him away. While Spurs insist he is not for sale, they are aware of the increasing interest and the fact that they might struggle to hold onto him.

Irrespective of whether Spurs get relegated or not, Sarr could be on his way out. The report suggests a £50 million offer could be enough for Madrid or PSG to snap him up. Los Blancos certainly need more quality in midfield, as a lack of depth has caused problems for them this season.

The 23-year-old could provide much-needed competition to the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni. While PSG have a star-studded midfield, they want to strengthen their rotation, and a versatile player like Sarr could be a delight for Luis Enrique.

While the player is not pushing for a move away, his agents and intermediaries are expected to hold informal talks with interested clubs in the near future. PSG and Madrid are yet to initiate any negotiations, but their interest is genuine.
