Fenerbahce are reportedly in talks to explore a deal for Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham ahead of the summer window.
According to Takvim, Fenerbahce are linked with a move for Pape Matar Sarr ahead of the summer window. The Turkish giants are reportedly in talks of some capacity to explore a move for the highly-rated Tottenham midfielder, with a €35 million valuation being mentioned.
Tottenham have had a dreadful season to date, with the threat of relegation looming large despite being a point ahead of fellow rivals West Ham United. Many situations could transpire in the remainder of the season, including a possible drop down to the Championship.
In the scenario of relegation, a host of their key first-team players might depart, and even if they stay up, the club could plan fundamental changes, starting with the midfield. They are ready to let Yves Bissouma depart on a free transfer, while the likes of Pape Matar Sarr’s future has also been called into doubt.
Sarr was the subject of interest from Fenerbahce last summer, with the Turkish giants now back in the hunt for the Senegal international. Sarr has made over 130 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions since his arrival from Metz in 2022 and has become a key part of this team over the years.
However, he could leave for the right offer, with the report stating a valuation of €35 million in the current market, given that he has a contract with Tottenham until 2030. With the club already looking at revamping their midfield amid links to Juventus star Manuel Locatelli, new manager Roberto De Zerbi might allow the sale of Sarr in the close season.
Fenerbahce to sign Pape Matar Sarr?
Sarr is of interest to Fenerbahce, who are in talks of some capacity to explore a move for the midfielder. The Istanbul giants are ready to explore multiple signings in the summer, including a key midfielder. The highly-rated Tottenham midfielder is seen as a good addition to the team, with all eyes on the Turkish giants’ willingness to pay as much as €35 million for the Senegal international.
Fenerbahce will have other alternatives in mind should a deal for Sarr become difficult. However, they are in a good position to attract considerable talent, including the Tottenham star, although it is yet to be determined whether Sarr is open to the idea of joining the Istanbul-based outfit as his next club.
