Roberto De Zerbi reportedly wants to bring compatriot Moise Kean to Tottenham, with Fiorentina demanding at least €50 million.
According to Calcio Mercato, Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly insisting on signing his compatriot Moise Kean ahead of the summer. Spurs are expected to reshuffle their forward line if they survive relegation, with the Italian striker currently valued at €50 million by his club Fiorentina.
Moise Kean has had spells at many clubs since breaking through at Juventus many years ago. The teams he featured for include Everton, PSG, and Hellas Verona; however, it was at Fiorentina where he found a consistent rhythm to his game, and he has since been their main man in attack.
Last season’s heroic performances for the Viola have not been matched this time around, with a modest return of only eight Serie A strikes to his name compared to 19 from last season. However, that has not deterred suitors from looking into a possible summer move, as the likes of Fulham are showing an interest.
Tottenham are the latest to enter the race, and the report states it is new manager Roberto De Zerbi who is reportedly seeking his compatriot ahead of the summer. Spurs are expected to make some adjustments to their forward line in anticipation of a few departures, including Richarlison, who has plenty of suitors lining up moves.
Dominic Solanke’s future is doubtful as per recent reports, with the club’s current stature as a relegation battler likely to see a host of departures in the close season. Kean is seen as the ideal candidate by De Zerbi, as per the report, with the manager seeking someone who suits his style of play.
Fiorentina ready to sell Moise Kean?
Fiorentina consider Kean a key player for their plans, and they, too, like Tottenham, are in the thick of a relegation battle. Hence, there’s a strong chance that the Italian striker departs the club in the summer, as Tottenham could position themselves strongly in the race. The Italian side reportedly wants at least €50 million to sell Kean, who may have a release clause worth around €62 million in his contract in Florence.
The €50 million price point might suit Tottenham if they view Kean as a top-quality striker. However, De Zerbi is thought to hold some sway when it comes to choosing transfer targets, and if he has the Italian attacker on his mind, there’s a chance the Fiorentina man arrives in north London during the summer if Spurs get their way.
