Manchester United eye move for Bayern Munich teenager Maycon Cardozo, with huge challenges ahead in the pursuit.
According to Team Talk, Manchester United are showing admiration towards Bayern Munich’s teenage prodigy Maycon Cardozo ahead of the summer. The teenager only signed a new deal early last month, which does make the prospect of opening negotiations with the Bavarians difficult.
Manchester United are set to embark on an important summer transfer window, as the club are focused on further building their first-team squad. Apart from key signings, the club may also decide on their next manager, with some options being considered, including current interim boss Michael Carrick.
Beyond those needs, Manchester United are constantly looking at young talents who would continue to nurture the ranks in and around the first-team plans. Over the last few years, Manchester United have stayed active in pursuing and signing young talents that were close to making a mark in the senior squad, as well as those suitable for the U-21s.
Now, they are looking closely at a player at Bayern Munich, Maycon Cardozo, the winger who has recently broken into the first-team plans. Having signed from Ratchaburi Yth, a club based in Thailand, the Brazilian winger impressed within the lower ranks before Vincent Kompany handed him his debut against Borussia Monchengladbach recently.
Cardozo has since had another outing with the first team, coming on as a substitute against Union Berlin. Overall, the club view him as a big part of their future, which makes any move away from the club difficult despite the apparent interest from the likes of Manchester United.
Can Manchester United Sign Maycon Cardozo?
Manchester United are equally big compared to Bayern Munich, and the interest in the 17-year-old Bayern Munich sensation could signify they are keen on the player. However, this is also an indication of Cardozo’s growing reputation in the market.
Bayern Munich have no interest in selling the winger, especially after Cardozo agreed to and signed a new deal with the club earlier in March. The Bavarians are eager to develop his talent into something special for the future, which could now see them hand the teenager regular minutes moving forward.
