Real Madrid considering Gonzalo Garcia loan exit this summer

Real Madrid may sanction a loan departure for 22-year-old Spanish striker Gonzalo Garcia in the summer transfer window amid his links with Arsenal and Newcastle United.

According to a report by Sports Boom, Arsenal and Newcastle United are interested in Real Madrid attacking prospect Gonzalo Garcia. The two Premier League clubs are keen on reinforcing their offensive units by signing a striker ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The latest report has brought good news for Arsenal and Newcastle United, as Real Madrid may sanction a loan exit for the Spanish in the upcoming transfer window. The Spanish giants “have for the first time seriously put a loan option on the table to allow his development to continue in a top-tier arena” and identified the Premier League as the ideal destination.

Gonzalo Garcia and his Real Madrid break

Gonzalo Garcia is the latest prospect to graduate from Real Madrid’s La Fabrica division. While the Merengues have not produced many world-class prodigies from their academy in recent years, they have groomed Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and a few other players after signing them. As for Garcia, the 22-year-old enjoyed his breakthrough at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Since then, Garcia has been a backup player in the 2025/26 season, managing 1,184 minutes of game time in 32 mostly substitute appearances thus far, chipping in with six goals and two assists. Meanwhile, the Spanish striker’s stock has soared, with several well-known clubs setting their sights on him. Arsenal and Newcastle United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League adventure beckoning?

Arsenal’s interest in Gonzalo Garcia makes sense. The Gunners are scouring the market for a striker, as Gabriel Jesus faces an uncertain future at the Emirates. Additionally, Kai Havertz has struggled with a few fitness issues in the last 12 months. So, with Viktor Gyokeres still coming to grips with the challenges of being a Premier League striker, Arsenal must sign a centre-forward to be an alternative to the Swede and Havertz.

As for Newcastle United, Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have failed to make their mark since arriving at St. James’ Park. Additionally, recent reports have suggested that a move away from the Tyneside club may be on the cards for Woltemade. So, Newcastle United must dip into the market for a striker again, with Garcia a option worth considering.
