Juventus may cash in on 25-year-old French international in the summer transfer window if they receive a bid worth around €60 million.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are interested in Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram. The three Premier League clubs are eager to bolster their first-team squads by signing a versatile midfielder heading into the 2026/27 season. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants may give in and sell the 25-year-old midfielder if they receive an offer worth around €60 million this summer.
Khephren Thuram and his Juventus journey
Khephren Thuram has made gradual progress since joining Juventus from OGC Nice in July 2024. The Frenchman arrived at the Allianz Stadium with hype surrounding him after his exploits for the Ligue 1 club. While the 25-year-old midfielder has been in and out of the starting lineup, he has made enough of an impact to compel Luciano Spalletti to seek his stay for the long haul.
Thuram has made nearly 100 appearances for Juventus thus far while chipping in with eight goals and 12 assists. Meanwhile, the French midfielder’s progress has stimulated the interest of several high-profile clubs, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
From Serie A to the Premier League this year?
Newcastle United may dip into the market for a versatile midfielder in the coming months, as they are in a spot of bother over the long-term futures of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. The two Newcastle United midfielders have emerged as targets for several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United. So, Thuram is an option worth considering, as his versatility allows him to play as a holding midfielder and a box-to-box midfielder.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Khephren Thuram makes sense. The Reds are combing the market for a versatile midfielder due to uncertainties surrounding Wataru Endo’s long-term future. Additionally, Thuram’s arrival will create a fluid midfield combination with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, as all three players can reprise different roles in the middle of the park.
As for Manchester United, Casemiro will depart from Old Trafford as a free agent after the 2025/26 season. Additionally, Manuel Ugarte has been dreadful since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain nearly two years ago. So, Thuram is an option worth considering for Manchester United, as his skill set makes him the ideal foil for Bruno Fernandes.
While Juventus would like to keep the 25-year-old Frenchman at the Allianz Stadium beyond the summer transfer window, they may have no choice but to cash in on him if they fail to secure the riches of the UEFA Champions League. With the figure of €60 million now in front of them, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United know what they must do to land Thuram.
