Tottenham Hotspur are scouting Aston Villa midfield target Mandela Keita ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Mandela Keita could end up making a move to the Premier League this summer as Tottenham and Aston Villa are both keen on his signature. Both clubs have been monitoring him for some time, and Spurs had recently sent scouts to watch the Belgian international in action.
Keita has established himself as an integral part of Parma’s first team since joining them from Royal Antwerp in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth €11.9 million. The investment has already paid off as his value has gone up to €18 million.
The 23-year-old has been involved in 32 matches this term. He has racked up over 2,500 minutes of first-team action and has even bagged an assist. While he prefers playing in the holding role, the youngster has showcased that he is capable enough to feature in more advanced roles.
Premier League duo are after Keita’s signature
His performances have placed him on the radar of Aston Villa and Tottenham, who are both looking to add more quality and depth to their midfield. Both clubs have been monitoring the youngster for some time now.
Given the injury track record of Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Joao Palhinha’s uncertain future, the North London club are desperately looking to add more depth to their midfield. They are ahead of Villa in the race to sign Keita.
Spurs have recently sent a scout to watch him in action and provide information. The reports are believed to be positive, and they could make an offer in the summer. Even Villa could table a bid for his signature.
However, securing his services won’t be that straightforward, as other top clubs are also in the race. On top of that, his contract at Parma runs until the summer of 2029, giving them complete control over his future. They will only consider a departure in case their financial demands are met. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if the 23-year-old is ready to make the jump to a bigger club this summer.
