Jurgen Klopp is reportedly encouraging Liverpool to sign Yan Diomande ahead of their rivals to replace Mohamed Salah.
According to The Sun, Liverpool are being encouraged by Jurgen Klopp to make a move for winger Yan Diomande ahead of the summer. The German is reportedly eager for his former side to get hold of the Ivorian winger, as Manchester United and Arsenal are also keen.
Yan Diomande represents a unique footballer in the market at the moment, owing to his ability to play on both wings. Top teams are constantly on the lookout for a player of his qualities, with the Bundesliga sensation now the subject of massive interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, among others.
Arsenal and Manchester United are keen, with the two teams still eager to bolster their attacking options with the best possible profiles available in the market. Diomande has excelled in his short stint at RB Leipzig so far, but it could be Liverpool who might push the hardest for the Ivorian winger.
Leipzig are reportedly demanding an £87 million fee for their prized asset, with teams like Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United very much capable of paying as much. Liverpool, in particular, must be very much interested following Mohamed Salah’s decision to leave the club at the end of the season, with the Reds expected to sign at least two new wingers to replace the Egyptian international.
Liverpool have widened their network in search of viable replacements for Salah, with Michael Olise a player of acute interest. The French international will be difficult to acquire, as Bayern Munich have no plans to let him leave, which has seen them linked with Juventus’ Francisco Conceicao recently.
Jurgen Klopp wants Diomande at Liverpool?
Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer and former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants his old club to make the move for Diomande. The German is seemingly encouraging the Merseyside outfit to bring the £87 million-rated prospect to Anfield, as he may feel the Ivory Coast international is a good option to replace Salah.
Klopp was the man responsible for bringing Salah to Liverpool and platforming him the right way, so his recommendation for Diomande will hold water. Liverpool are still gauging the market for the right ideas, as the teenage sensation is certainly high up their list of Salah replacements.
