AC Milan and PSG are angling to take advantage of Marcus Rashford’s situation with Barcelona amid Manchester United’s latest stance.
According to Calciomercato, AC Milan and PSG are ready to rival Barcelona for the signature of Marcus Rashford. The English winger is eager to seal a permanent switch with the Spanish giants, but the costs involved in the deal are posing problems for the Blaugrana, which has enabled others to enter the race.
Marcus Rashford has had a productive season after joining Barcelona on loan following his troubled period at Manchester United. The Premier League giants hold all the cards in deciding his future, although the Catalan outfit can sign him permanently for a fee of €30 million, as this is the figure written into his loan agreement as a buy option.
There have been rumours that Rashford is ready to take a pay cut from his €14 million-a-year salary to seal the move to Barcelona. Reports from recent weeks had suggested a permanent move is certainly on the cards, but the reigning La Liga champions are trying hard to get a discount on his price.
There were suggestions of Barcelona requesting a second loan, but the best route is to seal a permanent transfer. Manchester United are not planning on giving Barcelona an concessions and remainsaware of Rashford’s preference to remain with the Catalan giants in the summer.
Manchester United are not deterred by Rashford’s preference, as they are expecting other clubs to make their interest known in the forward. As is being reported, AC Milan and PSG are now keen to explore a move for the England international while keeping close tabs on the updates from Barcelona.
Will Rashford remain at Barcelona?
AC Milan are the latest to enter the race, as PSG were known to hold an interest in the Manchester United misfit from earlier. The Rossoneri are also eager to find a solution to Rashford’s current salary, as they would not be able to pay as much as €14 million or anywhere near that figure. As for the transfer fee, they could work out a case around that sum.
Contrastingly, PSG may have no qualms about paying Rashford’s financial demands, although the Parisians are well stocked in the attacking areas. As a priority, the Englishman wants to seal a move to Barcelona, and Manchester United continue to hold their stance over their demands, which does make a deal challenging at the current moment.
