After coming up the ranks at Atalanta, Bastoni made the move to Inter in the summer of 2017. After a few loan spells away, he managed to establish himself in the first team and has only gone from strength to strength since.

Alessandro Bastoni is one of the cornerstones of Inter Milan’s first-team squad at this point, and he is also widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the world. With his contract running out in 2028, clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Barcelona are hoping to secure his services this summer.
The Reds are looking at him as an ideal long-term replacement for their skipper, Virgil van Dijk. Meanwhile, the Blues are hoping he will provide the much-needed experience at the back. However, their hopes of signing the €80 million-rated centre-back are fading, as Inter Milan are looking to secure his long-term future with a new deal. The Nerazzurri are working on a mega-money contract for the 26-year-old, which could make him one of Serie A’s highest-paid players of all time.
Inter consider Bastoni one of the most important players in their setup, and they have no intentions of negotiating his departure. They are growing increasingly confident about keeping hold of him.
