Chelsea prepare €50 million bid to beat Newcastle United to Said El Mala

Cardiff City vs Chelsea: Preview and Prediction ahead of their EFL Cup quarter final tie on Tuesday night.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to table a €50 million offer for Koln winger Said El Mala and beat Newcastle United to his signature.

According to Fichajes, Said El Mala is attracting plenty of interest in the market as a big move in the summer beckons for the talented winger. Koln are aware of the admiration from top clubs, as Chelsea are reportedly preparing a €50 million bid to test the waters and beat competition from the likes of Newcastle United.

Some Premier League teams are all in the market for a top-notch left winger, and some of them have set their sights on Said El Mala. FC Koln made the smart move and tied him down to a long-term contract last summer, after he spent his first season away at Viktoria Koln in the third division, which also happens to be the club from which he was signed.

El Mala has proven his worth since signing the new deal, producing a tremendous season with nine goals and four assists in the Bundesliga. He was the subject of interest from some clubs back in January, but he was committed to Koln then, with some stories around his situation pointing towards a more considered approach rather than rushing to make his move to a big club.

However, the summer window could be a testing period for Koln as many Premier League teams are keen, including Brighton. Chelsea are also interested, and it now appears the Blues are prepared to make a €50 million offer for the talented winger, who has contributed 13 goals and assists this season.

Chelsea have never shied away from paying top money for young talent, and El Mala could be the next in an otherwise long list of purchases in recent times. The €50 million offer reported could be testing enough for Koln to consider their next move, and should the Blues bring in El Mala, it might spell the end for either Alejandro Garnacho or Jamie Gittens next summer.

Chelsea Favourites for Said El Mala?

Newcastle United are also interested in El Mala, which could be a result of speculation surrounding Arsenal-linked Anthony Gordon’s future. Should they lose the English winger, it is only logical for them to bring in a quality replacement, and in this scenario, the 13 G/A Bundesliga teenage sensation might be a solution, if not the absolute option.

Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for El Mala, and should they secure next season’s Champions League football, they could pip the likes of Newcastle United. The winger could have a choice of clubs chasing his signature, but the idea of playing at Stamford Bridge might well prove tempting.
