Tottenham and Aston Villa could explore a move for Nottingham Forest outcast Arnaud Kalimuendo to improve their attacking options.
According to Fussballdaten, Arnaud Kalimuendo could yet have a career in the Premier League, as Tottenham and Aston Villa are keen on the attacker. Currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Nottingham Forest, the French attacker could have a change of clubs in the summer, with his parent club ready to sell.
Aston Villa and Tottenham have had contrasting fortunes this season, with the teams battling at different ends of the Premier League table. Aston Villa are still in the mix for a Champions League spot, while Spurs are currently battling relegation, as both their chances of going big in the transfer window will depend on how they end their respective seasons.
Aston Villa and Tottenham are expected to sign attackers, with the two teams now locked in on a common target in Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo. The attacker, who joined the club in the summer, failed to cement a place in the team, which eventually led to a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The present interest from Spurs and Villa could excite the attacker into considering a future in the Premier League again. Nottingham Forest are open to selling the attacker for a price of nearly €35 million in the summer, but the existing agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt consists of a €27 million buy option.
Frankfurt’s option could complicate the matter for Villa and Spurs, as the German side could sign him if they qualify for the Champions League next season. If they do not achieve their objective, the attacker could return to Nottingham Forest, and his future would then become open for consideration.
Arnaud Kalimuendo Back to the Premier League?
Frankfurt are keen to sign the attacker, but they may only be able to afford him with Champions League football. This does give the likes of Villa and Spurs a chance to sign the €35 million-rated French attacker, as the price might also seem reasonable.
While Kalimuendo had failed to shine in his recent stint with Forest, there might be some doubts. However, his spell in Germany has revived his career in a big way, which has attracted the likes of Spurs and Villa towards him, as he could potentially return to the Premier League in the summer if a move to Frankfurt does not materialise.
