According to Sports Boom, Waldemar Anton is attracting plenty of attention from Premier League sides ahead of the summer. Aston Villa are reportedly leading the race for the 29-year-old Borussia Dortmund star, while Tottenham and West Ham are also keen.
Borussia Dortmund made a calculated investment in signing Waldemar Anton for their defence back in 2024, and the move has proved to be a hit. The 29-year-old is a mainstay in Niko Kovac’s side, and his profile as well as his numbers showcase how big a part he plays for the team.
Dortmund are not keen to part ways with the defender, although an offer of €35–40 million would test the waters, as they are never in a strong position to keep hold of their best players. Yet, the price point mentioned could be considered a bit steep for a player of Anton’s age, but the terrific performances from the German defender have attracted a few Premier League suitors.
A host of English sides are keen, with Tottenham and West Ham seen as suitors. Both those London-based sides are battling relegation as things stand, and their ability to survive in the top flight will dictate their power in the transfer window.
Among the suitors, which also includes Aston Villa, West Ham are probably the most undervalued in this instance. Spurs are planning replacements for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, which could see them target an experienced head like the €35–40 million-rated defender.

Moreover, they are destined to play European football next season, which may see them become the priority destination for the €35–40 million-rated defender should he choose to leave Dortmund in the summer.
It remains to be seen whether Anton, who has spent his entire career in Germany, would be open to the idea of playing in the Premier League. There is the obvious lure of finances when it comes to playing in England, and should a club pay big for the defender, he might well be on his way out of Dortmund.
