Tottenham shot-stopper is considering parting ways with the club after a disastrous Champions League debut against Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham ended up suffering a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16, and the biggest talking point was Antonin Kinsky’s disastrous UCL debut. Igor Tudor handed him a rare start ahead of Guglielmo Vicario.
While it was a massive opportunity for the 22-year-old, he ended up making a meal out of it. Two massive errors led to goals, and having conceded three within the first 15 minutes, Tudor ended up subbing him out in the 17th minute. Following the horror show on the Madrid pitch, Kinsky is now considering parting ways with Spurs this summer, as per a report from iSport.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper made a name for himself while playing for Slavia Praha. On the back of his impressive rise and massive potential, Spurs acquired his services at the start of 2025. While the North London club rate him quite highly, he hasn’t had much game time since joining them.
So far, he has only been involved in 13 games for Tottenham. After having started just two EFL Cup games this season, the 22-year-old second-choice keeper was handed a rare opportunity at the biggest stage against Atletico. His Champions League debut turned out to be a disaster, and it has resulted in a lot of speculation around his future.
Last summer, LOSC Lille were keen on his signature, while West Ham wanted to sign him during the winter, and even clubs from Germany and Spain were keen on having him on their roster. However, Spurs blocked an exit as they wanted him around as a quality second choice.
Kinsky to part ways with Spurs this summer
While people at the North London club rate him quite highly, the lack of game time has frustrated the youngster, and it might be one of the reasons for his struggles against Atletico. Kinsky now has to carefully decide his future. He certainly needs regular game time to recover from the UCL blunder.
With Guglielmo Vicario going nowhere, a move away might help the 22-year-old re-establish himself. He might have to consider moving away from the Premier League to once again prove his credentials. As per the report, the youngster is considering a loan move away from the club, and it certainly looks very likely.
Since he still wants to succeed at Tottenham, a temporary departure could help him get back to his best. The goalkeeper reportedly has a clause in his contract that if he doesn’t play a certain number of games this season, the club must accept a loan move in the summer if the conditions are met.
