Arsenal and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on the development and performances of Como’s Jesus Rodriguez ahead of the summer.
According to Sports Boom, Como’s attacking sensation Jesus Rodriguez is attracting interest from some top clubs in England ahead of the summer. Manchester City and Arsenal are among those keeping close tabs on the Spaniard’s performances, with a valuation of €45-55 million being quoted by the Italian club.
Como have turned heads in Italy with their brilliant performances and astute work in the transfer market. The Serie A side have managed to put together a smart team for Cesc Fabregas to train, and the Spaniard is now gunning for a top-four place as things stand.
In terms of the players, a lot of praise has been reserved for the likes of Nico Paz, but there is another attacker who has been turning heads at a rapid rate. Jesus Rodriguez, the former Real Betis winger, has eight assists across all competitions for Como and is steadily becoming one of their main creative outlets.
His ability to run in behind defences as well as unsettle tight backlines makes him a valuable asset for Como. The Italian side have already sounded out a potential fee in the region of €45-55 million for the 20-year-old winger, who has shown exceptional quality and appears to be a ready-made product for one of the bigger leagues, as Como anticipates a club-record sale.
Arsenal and Manchester City are the teams in England keeping close tabs on him ahead of the summer window. Both managers are eager to strengthen their wide attacking areas, which could see either club move for a left-sided winger. However, Rodriguez’s ability to play on the other flank makes him even more valuable.
Jesus Rodriguez to the Premier League?
Arsenal are in the market for a new left-sided attacker, with the future of either Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli being called into question ahead of the summer. There have been links with Anthony Gordon, for example, but Mikel Arteta might instead look to sign a younger winger to add to the mix.
Manchester City are also keen on a versatile attacker who predominantly features on the left-hand side, and Rodriguez might fit Pep Guardiola’s criteria. The club are also more than capable of paying for the €45-55 million-rated prodigy, but the competition with Arsenal will be an interesting one.
