Jonathan David has massive interest from Premier League clubs ahead of the summer window, as Juventus could reassess his position.
According to Team Talk, Jonathan David could leave Juventus in the summer, in what could be a window for the Turin giants to shake things up in attack. Manchester United, Tottenham, Leeds United and Aston Villa are among his admirers, as all of those sides are looking to add a new striker in the next window.
Jonathan David was considered a high-profile free agent back in the summer when he left LOSC Lille. A host of top teams were keen to snap him up, and it was Juventus who won the race, but things have not been smooth sailing for the Canadian international.
The 26-year-old striker has only managed seven goals from his 35 games for Juventus across all competitions. The fact that the Italian side tried to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan in January did indicate the possibility of the club being keen on adding a new striker. The report also claims that the Bianconeri have reopened talks with Dusan Vlahovic over a new deal, with the Serbian’s contract set to expire in the summer.
Selling David could be a bright idea from a financial standpoint, as the proceeds from the 26-year-old striker’s sale could help them in the next window for their own transfers. As things stand, Tottenham are among the teams keen on the Canadian, while Manchester United, Leeds United and Aston Villa are also interested.
Spurs are fighting relegation, and any move will depend on their ability to survive that. Should they manage to stay afloat, they will be active in the transfer market to strengthen the team to a level where they can fight for a top-four place, and signings like David would help them greatly.
Jonathan David to the Premier League?
Manchester United are set to reassess Joshua Zirkzee’s future in the summer, as the Dutchman could return to Serie A. They might view signing David as his replacement. However, the Red Devils are not alone, with Leeds United also keen, as are Aston Villa. The former could see Joel Piroe leave in the summer and could target the Canadian as his replacement.
As for Aston Villa, they are making fresh plans to ensure they have a competitive squad, as there could be a few departures along the way. On the striker front, they are keen on a few names in the market, and could have added David to that list, as the Canadian might ponder his future with Juventus.
