Liverpool join Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid in Federico Dimarco race

Liverpool have joined a handful of heavyweight clubs in the pursuit of Federico Dimarco ahead of the summer window.

According to Sports Boom, Federico Dimarco has plenty of suitors, with clubs glancing towards him ahead of the summer. Liverpool are the latest to enter the race for the Inter Milan wing-back, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid among those keen.

Federico Dimarco has continued with his impressive performances for Inter Milan, and this season, he could hit new heights. Being their main attacking outlet off the left-hand side is one thing, but the wing-back is now one short of matching the Serie A assist record, which stands at 16.

His overall understanding of the game and positional awareness make him one of their key players. The club’s board views him as an indispensable asset, with the report stating the club may not have the need to sell their key players to balance their finances. However, the report also suggests that Inter Milan could demand between £75–80 million, and should such an offer arrive, they might consider the idea of a sale.

As things stand, there are a host of clubs interested, including Real Madrid, who are eager to add competition to the left-back area. A move to the Santiago Bernabéu could be attractive for any given player, and Dimarco might see the idea of a move as interesting. However, it remains to be seen whether the Spanish giants are capable of paying a huge fee for the player with potentially no long-term upside in valuation.

Liverpool are the latest to enter the race for the €75–80 million-rated Serie A wing-back, with the club preparing for the exit of Andrew Robertson. They need competition in the left-back role, and from a stylistic point of view, he does suit Liverpool.

Federico Dimarco to Leave Inter Milan?

The idea of interest from clubs like Liverpool could prove enticing enough for Dimarco, but the objective analysis of paying for the €75–80 million-rated Serie A wing-back could fire back. The Reds are not alone as Arsenal are also interested, although the Gunners may view him as a market opportunity if he is easily available and may not look to spend big on a position they barely need to strengthen.

Manchester United are also keen, and this could be a different case compared to Arsenal, as the Red Devils are keen to add a new experienced left-back as competition for Luke Shaw. Overall, any decision to leave Inter Milan will depend on suitors and their ability to pay big, as well as the player, who remains happy with life at the San Siro.
