Crystal Palace unwilling to sell Dean Henderson this summer

Crystal Palace will not entertain any offers for 28-year-old English international Dean Henderson in the summer transfer window amid his links with Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report by Football Insider, Dean Henderson is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Crystal Palace mainstay has emerged as a target for the North London club.

However, the latest report has dealt a blow to Tottenham’s prospects, revealing that the Eagles have no plans to entertain offers for the Englishman in the summer transfer window. The update has added that Crystal Palace will be “determined” to keep Henderson at Selhurst Park unless they receive a “huge offer” from prospective suitors.

How has Dean Henderson fared at Crystal Palace?

Dean Henderson has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from Manchester United in August 2023. Born in Whitehaven, the 28-year-old passed through the academies at Whitehaven Miners and Carlisle United but spent most of his formative years with Manchester United.

However, while the English international showed promise at Manchester United, he could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Henderson has made over 100 appearances for Crystal Palace thus far while keeping 35 clean sheets and conceding 126 goals. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Move across London on the cards?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Dean Henderson is understandable. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a goalkeeper heading into the summer transfer window, as Guglielmo Vicario’s long-term future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is uncertain amid his links with Inter Milan and Juventus.

Several candidates, including Robin Roefs, have thus emerged on Tottenham’s wishlist, with Henderson also a viable target. Additionally, the 28-year-old Englishman’s extensive experience in the Premier League makes him an appealing target for the North London club.

However, a summer move will not materialise, as Crystal Palace will not entertain any offers for Henderson in the upcoming transfer window. The latest report has revealed that the Eagles are “determined” to keep Henderson at Selhurst Park unless they receive a “huge offer” from prospective suitors. So, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham will submit an eye-catching bid to land the English shot-stopper.
