Rennes vs PSG: Preview and Prediction.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all set to battle it out for the signature of PSG midfield mainstay Joao Neves.

Joaa Neves hasn’t looked back since joining PSG in the summer of 2024. The Portuguese international has established himself as an integral part of their project, and thanks to his consistent performances, the 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

According to a report from SportsBoom, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all keen on his signature. The Reds are set to take on the European giants to sign the Portuguese midfielder, who still has over three years left on his deal.

Neves made quite a name for himself while coming up the ranks at Benfica. On the back of an 18-month-long spell with their first team, he made the switch to PSG in a big-money move.

The 21-year-old has only gone from strength to strength since. He played a massive part in their treble-winning campaign last time out. Neves has established himself as one of the best in his position in no time, and the biggest clubs in Europe now want him.

With his contract running until 2029, PSG are in complete control over his future. They are also looking to tie home down to a new deal to fend off interest.

European giants are after Neves’ signature

Since a new deal hasn’t been agreed just yet, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid remain keen on his signature. The trio are willing to break the bank to sign the Portuguese international.

City see him as an ideal long-term replacement for Rodri, who has struggled with injuries in the recent past. Pep Guardiola has given the green light to his signing. His elite playmaking and ball-distribution skills make him a perfect fit for his system.

At Liverpool, he could rival Ryan Gravenberch for a place in the starting XI. The Reds feel he could resolve the issues in their midfield engine room. Their scouts watched him in action against Newcastle and AS Monaco in the Champions League, and they are now preparing a record-breaking offer to sign him.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid believe the 21-year-old could help them better control the tempo of games. They consider him to be the final piece of their midfield revamp.

While all three clubs are keen on his signature, signing him won’t be that straightforward. He is currently valued at €110 million, and Luis Enrique considers him a very important part of their setup. As a result, he won’t let him leave easily. A potential transfer might cost around €150-160 million. If any of the clubs are willing to put that kind of fee on the table, PSG’s stance could change.
