Juventus eyeing summer move for Alisson Becker

Juventus are eyeing a summer move for Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker, and they could look to take advantage of his current situation.

According to Fichajes, Alisson Becker is a target for Juventus ahead of the summer, as the Turin giants look for a new shot-stopper. The Liverpool No.1 will enter the final year of his contract at Anfield, which could prompt the Bianconeri to attempt to sign him for a reasonable fee, unless he signs a new deal on Merseyside.

Alisson Becker was a big signing for Liverpool in the context of how Jurgen Klopp transformed the club’s fortunes. Looking back, the Brazilian’s arrival proved a massive turning point for the Merseysiders, with the goalkeeper establishing himself as one of the best in his position.

He was signed in what was then a record-breaking deal for a goalkeeper, with the Reds paying an initial €62.5 million to bring him from Roma. At Liverpool, he has won the Premier League twice and the Champions League once, while being part of a competitive squad for many years. However, he may consider his future at Anfield, with the Brazilian international set to enter the final year of his deal at the club.

There have been rumours that Alisson could leave Liverpool next summer, with interest from Serie A mounting. AC Milan have been keen, according to some reports, but that was before Mike Maignan signed a new deal. As a result, they may not consider signing another top-notch goalkeeper, but Juventus are reportedly keen in a big way.

The report states that Juventus believe they need a top-notch keeper to stabilise things at the back and feel they require such a player to consistently challenge for titles going forward. They have been linked with Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as a potential option, but the report suggests the Italian is seen more as a contingency option if they fail to land the Liverpool mainstay.

Is Alisson a good option for Juventus?

Juventus have lacked a top-notch keeper over the last few seasons, and the arrival of a player of that calibre would likely signal the end for Michele Di Gregorio. Alisson would be a fantastic option, given that he is still at the top of his game despite being 33.

A return to Serie A would suit the Brazilian international, although he would have plenty of options on the table, especially from high-spending Saudi Arabian sides. From a sporting point of view, Juventus could tempt the keeper back to Italy, but it will be a challenge not only to convince him but also to meet what Liverpool might demand for one of their most important players.
