Tottenham eye Franco Mastantuono move

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Franco Mastantuono from Real Madrid as he continues to struggle in Spain.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Franco Mastantuono in the summer. The attacker has continued to struggle for relevance in Spain, with the report suggesting Real Madrid could consider offers for the Argentine teenager.

Franco Mastantuono impressed during his time at River Plate and convinced Real Madrid to spend heavily on the talented teenager. Upon his arrival in the summer, the teenage attacker found a place in the squad as former boss Xabi Alonso preferred him to some of the more seasoned wingers, such as Rodrygo Goes.

The majority of his minutes in La Liga came under the former boss, and since then, he has struggled for relevance under Alvaro Arbeloa. Mastantuono is young and has plenty of time to prove his worth, but the report suggests a different angle altogether.

With his minutes drying up, his chances of making Argentina’s World Cup squad are at risk, as Chelsea reportedly pondered a loan move in January. Real Madrid showed no interest then, but ahead of the summer, the report states they could potentially consider offers for the 18-year-old prodigy.

Now, Tottenham are considering a move in the summer, with the story also naming Brighton as a potential suitor. Spurs have been constantly looking into the market for exciting young talents and have steadily invested in players with huge future potential, with the examples of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Luka Vuskovic standing out.

Tottenham to chase Franco Mastantuono?

Tottenham could make an effort to bring in the 18-year-old Real Madrid prodigy in the summer, but doubts remain over their chances of getting a deal over the line. While the report states that Real Madrid could consider offers, there are significant doubts given the money they have invested in signing the young Argentine.

It is a similar story to Endrick, as Real Madrid invested heavily in the young Brazilian talent and continues to count on him for the future. While the rumours will persist amid Tottenham’s interest in Mastantuono, Real Madrid are unlikely to part ways with the talented Argentine attacker so soon in his career at the Bernabeu.
