Arsenal will reportedly attempt to tie 27-year-old English international Declan Rice to a new contract in the coming months.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Declan Rice has compelled Arsenal to plan talks with his entourage over a new contract with his performances in recent months. Andrea Berta has defined the English midfielder’s renewal as one of his priorities for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
So, the Gunners are ready to approach Rice’s representatives to open talks for a new contract in the coming months. Berta has already “touched base” with the Englishman’s camp, having contact his entourage last year to confirm “Arsenal’s intention” to begin discussions in 2026. The player currently pockets £240,000-a-week wages, with his deal running until June 2028.
How has Declan Rice fared at Arsenal?
Declan Rice has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Arsenal from West Ham United in a deal worth £105 million in July 2023. The 27-year-old was already among the world’s most promising young midfielders during his time with West Ham. However, he has taken his game to the next level in the last two and a half years.
The English international has made nearly 150 appearances thus far for Arsenal while chipping in with 20 goals and 30 assists. Meanwhile, Rice’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. However, Arsenal will not entertain any offers for the former West Ham captain in the summer transfer window
What next?
Widespread reports have linked Declan Rice with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
