Newcastle United hesitant to sell Anthony Gordon amid emerging links

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United could suffer a blow in their pursuit of Anthony Gordon owing to Newcastle United’s stance.

According to Team Talk, Newcastle United’s stance on Anthony Gordon could see the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United suffer a blow. The Magpies are not keen on selling their star winger, with a premium price likely to be quoted in case of enquiries.

Top-level Premier League teams are set to enter the summer market in search of left wingers, and there are quite a few names that they might consider. This is about the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, with the trio of giant clubs eager to bring a new star on the left-hand side.

There are some names, such as Rafael Leao or Yan Diomande, being mentioned in media reports, but Anthony Gordon seems like the absolute bet in this regard. Manchester United are considering a move for the 24-year-old Newcastle wide man ahead of the summer, with the England international not expected to move anything other than a premium price.

Gordon is also a target for Liverpool and Arsenal, with both those teams expected to dip into the market for a new left winger. The 24-year-old Newcastle wide man is reportedly open to the idea of playing at Anfield, but on the outside, he has denied those claims.

Arsenal are also a good option, as Mikel Arteta could offload one of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli next summer. Gordon has been on their radar for quite a while, and they, alongside Manchester United or Liverpool, have the capacity to pay big to secure the 24-year-old Newcastle wide man.

Newcastle United planning on Anthony Gordon sale?

Newcastle United are relaxed about Gordon’s situation despite the growing interest in the market. The Magpies are in no rush to plan a sale of their star winger, meaning they would only consider offers that meet their massive asking price, which the report claims could be close to the fee they received for Alexander Isak.

More importantly, the Magpies are not keen to be embroiled in another saga such as the one they experienced with the Swede. Hence, they are maintaining their stance of Gordon not being for sale in the summer, as it would take a premium price to lure the 24-year-old away from St James Park.
