Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in Bradley Barcola, with a big battle set to ensue if the player is open to leaving PSG in the summer.
According to Fichajes, Bradley Barcola is a definite target for the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the summer. The story stresses a potential discontent for the player from a sporting angle at PSG, which could lead him to explore new avenues in the close season.
Some of the top Premier League teams are in the market for wide attackers, with managers steadily moving towards bringing in players who have versatility and fluidity in their game. There aren’t many pkayers who deliver that, but Bradley Barcola is certainly one of those.
Barcola has been a star performer for PSG over the last few seasons, but internal competition, such as the one with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, is not allowing the winger to cement his place. The fact that he likes to operate on the left wing, the same as the Georgian, is possibly preventing him from being the main man on the left.
Hence, the report speculates that he could explore newer avenues, such as the Premier League, as a host of teams, including Arsenal, are keen. The Gunners are in the market for a left-sided attacker, and Barcola’s name has been mentioned before. There are other names, such as Anthony Gordon or even Nico Williams, mentioned in the media recently, as Mikel Arteta wants a top-drawer player there next season.
Barcola could be an expensive buy for the Gunners, who have shown the knack to invest in the right players, meaning they could potentially fork out a big sum for the 23-year-old wide man. It remains to be seen whether PSG are ready to allow Barcola his departure, or whether the player can be convinced to stay put at the Parc des Princes.
Are Liverpool in the Barcola race?
Liverpool are reportedly willing to pay big for Barcola and battle the likes of Arsenal for the 23-year-old wide man. The Merseysiders are also looking at players that would drastically improve their attack, particularly on the wings, as they prepare for life after Mohamed Salah. However, with Barcola preferring to operate on the opposite flank to the Egyptian, it could be a case that Arne Slot is already considering an upgrade on Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool have also looked at Yan Diomande as a potential option, which showcases their willingness to invest big in the wide position. It remains to be seen whether they are serious about Barcola ahead of the summer, which could lead to an approach of some kind in the coming period.
