Arsenal and Tottenham suffer a blow in their pursuit of Christian Pulisic, as AC Milan are reluctant to sell the American international.
According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on bringing Christian Pulisic back to the Premier League. Both the London clubs have suffered a blow as AC Milan are reluctant to sell their star forward.
After coming up the ranks and making a name for himself at Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic made the move to Chelsea at the start of 2019. He continued at the German club on loan until the summer before moving to Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately, things didn’t really work out for him at the London club, as he failed to live up to the expectations. He eventually parted ways with the Blues to join AC Milan in the summer of 2023. The American international has certainly managed to revive his career since making the move to Italy.
Over the years, he has been involved in a total of 121 matches and has contributed towards 67 goals. While he has only played just over 1,000 minutes in his 21 outings this term, the 27-year-old has 10 goals and two assists.
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and there are clubs in England that want to sign the American winger. While he prefers playing out wide on the right, he can feature anywhere in attack. There is already a lot of interest in his services, and it could increase further if he impresses at the World Cup this summer.
North London clubs want former Chelsea star
Arsenal and Tottenham have emerged as two potential destinations for the former Chelsea forward. The Gunners seek more quality on the flanks and feel he could provide strong competition to Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank.
Meanwhile, Spurs seek more quality in the final third, and a versatile player like Pulisic could do wonders for them. While both clubs are keen on acquiring his services and they do have the finances to get a deal over the line, AC Milan are reluctant to sell. They value him at around £60-70 million; the price tag seems to be an attempt to deter interest in him.
The player is set to enter the final year of his deal in the summer, but the Serie A giants do have an option to extend it by another 12 months. Meanwhile, the Italian giants are hoping that securing Champions League football for next season will be enough to convince him to continue in Milan.
