Fiorentina are planning to negotiate the fee stipulated in their buy option for Manor Solomon and is eager to pay less.
According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Fiorentina are hatching a plan to seek a reduction in the transfer fee stipulated in their buy option for Manor Solomon. The Israeli international has been a hit in Florence since his January move, but the Serie A club are looking to pay a lower fee than previously agreed if they were to trigger their buy option.
Manor Solomon has had a torrid time over the last six months or so, as he maneuvered the many uncertainties surrounding his future. After signing for Tottenham during Ange Postecoglou’s first season there under controversial circumstances from Shakhtar Donetsk, he has had a decent time in England.
Following his ousting from the Tottenham squad, he has since had a successful spell at Leeds United, who chose not to sign him in the summer. Leeds also rejected the idea of a January move when Solomon was expected to end his Villarreal loan spell.
Solomon did not have a good time at Villarreal in the first six months of the season, and he ended the spell to join Fiorentina on loan for the remainder of the campaign. The Israeli international has been a sensational signing in Florence, scoring twice so far and playing a big part in their revival to get out of the relegation zone.
Fiorentina have a €10 million buy option in the deal with Tottenham, as there are already rumblings that they could sign him on a permanent deal. However, with a financial crunch in Florence, the club are now hatching a plan that could see them pay less for the 26-year-old Tottenham flop.
Fiorentina to open negotiations with Tottenham?
Fiorentina are open to the idea of keeping hold of Solomon, as they could potentially re-negotiate the terms of his purchase at the end of the campaign. The first impression made by the 26-year-old Tottenham flop has been instrumental, but they want to figure out a way to pay less than the €10 million stipulated in the contract should they trigger the buy option.
Fiorentina may look to stress that Solomon has no future at Tottenham, as well as find ways to convince the player to continue here. Should they get their way, the chances of paying a reduced fee could be in the pipeline for Fiorentina.
