Arsenal will reportedly look to sign 29-year-old Brazilian international Raphinha from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Raphinha is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a productive wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 29-year-old Barcelona forward has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.
The Premier League table-toppers hold a long-standing interest in the South American attacker and wanted to secure his services before he joined Barcelona from Leeds United. However, a summer deal will not materialise, as the reigning La Liga champions are unwilling to part ways with him in the coming months.
How has Raphinha fared at Barcelona?
Raphinha has established himself as one of the world’s best players since joining Barcelona from Leeds United in July 2022. The 29-year-old took some time to find his feet at the Catalan club, but he has not looked back since coming off the blocks. The player was instrumental in Barcelona’s successful 2024/25 campaign, and he finished in the top five in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
The Brazilian international has been solid in the 2025/26 season despite enduring a stop-start campaign thus far, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in 22 outings. Meanwhile, the former Leeds United attacker’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League giants. Arsenal will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Raphinha has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, even though Mikel Arteta has a stacked offensive unit in his squad. While Leandro Trossard has been excellent from the left flank, he is on the wrong side of 30 and faces an uncertain future at Arsenal.
Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli has been inconsistent in the last few seasons. That has compelled Arsenal to scour the market for a productive wide attacker, with the Barcelona mainstay emerging as a viable target. The latest report has revealed that the Gunners have rekindled their interest in the former Leeds United talisman.
However, a summer deal will not materialise, as Barcelona will not entertain any offers for him in the summer transfer window. That has been the Catalan club’s stance for a long time, and the 29-year-old Brazilian international is unlikely to leave anytime soon.
