West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 20-year-old German midfield prospect Noel Aseko from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Transfermarkt, Noel Aseko is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a defensive midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 20-year-old Bayern Munich prospect has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.
The Berlin-born prospect is currently on loan at Hannover 96 until the end of the 2025/26 season, but he will return to Bayern Munich after the campaign ends. Meanwhile, apart from West Ham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Villarreal are also keen on signing Aseko in the summer transfer window.
Noel Aseko is the latest promising prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. Born in Berlin, the youngster spent most of his formative years in his home city, passing through the academies at FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf and Hertha BSC. However, the 20-year-old graduated from the youth division at Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Aseko has been on loan with Hannover 96 since February 2025, making significant progress in the last 12 months. The German midfielder’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. West Ham United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
West Ham United’s interest in Noel Aseko is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a holding midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. They have already allowed Guido Rodriguez to join Valencia, while James Ward-Prowse has completed a loan move to Burnley and has no future at the London Stadium.
Additionally, Tomas Soucek is on the wrong side of 30, and recent reports have linked him with a summer move away from the East London club. So, West Ham must dip into the market for a new defensive midfielder, with Aseko emerging as a viable target.
The 20-year-old German midfielder’s penchant for scoring goals will make him a like-for-like replacement for Soucek. So, it will be interesting to see if West Ham can beat the competition to Aseko’s signature in the coming months.
