Everton prioritising summer move for Robin Le Normand

Everton are reportedly prioritising a move for Robin Le Normand, with a €40 million price point being mentioned for the defender.

According to Fichajes, Everton are reportedly prioritising a move for Robin Le Normand ahead of next summer to fortify their defensive ranks. It might take a €40 million offer to test Atletico Madrid’s resolve, as a coup of this sort will assert the belief that the mid-table Premier League teams are making a mark on the market.

There is been the notion that a mid-level Premier League side may have more pulling power than a La Liga or a Serie A top-five side. The most recent summer window did provide proof of the change in direction, and now Everton could make a statement signing to further cement that feeling.

The Toffees are looking to improve their backline and bring in a player who would enable strength to match some of the top teams in the Premier League. As a target, they want to explore a move for Spanish international defender Robin Le Normand.

Given that Le Normand has been a key part of Atletico Madrid’s backline since his move back in 2024, Diego Simeone could be open to the prospect of selling him. The Spanish giants are reportedly demanding at least €40 million for the centre-back, which will enable them to recoup their initial investment as well as ensure a small profit.

The price point for the €40 million-rated centre-back may not be an issue at all for Everton, who are seemingly showing serious intent when it comes to chasing the Spaniard. With Atletico Madrid open to a sale, as such a departure would free up wage space and finances to make new signings, the Toffees could benefit massively if they can convince the Spanish international.

Why does Everton need Robin Le Normand?

Le Normand is one of the top-level defenders in La Liga and at the international level, and signing him would seem like a massive coup for Everton. Such an arrival would also allow David Moyes to create a strong base at the back, and that could act as a springboard for the club to progress in their quest to cement themselves as a top team consistently featuring in Europe in the future.

They have also set sights on Marcos Senesi of Bournemouth as a potential addition, and Moyes will want strong defensive options moving forward. Michael Keane and James Tarkowski may not have too long at the club at the top level, but the idea of having players like Le Normand and/or Senesi alongside Jarrad Branthwaite will elevate their defensive levels moving forward.
